Some don’t even require repainting since they’ll repaint anyway after anyone moves out. Very rarely have I seen rental apartments forbid people from painting their walls entirely.

Painting a wall is also much simpler than you might think. After all, all painting is, is to get some color onto a wall somewhat evenly. If your rental apartment has dingy yellow paint, please do yourself a favor and paint it white (unless you want to try other colors then props to you!).
